4th of July Weekend Recap

Friday was a beautiful day. I had the kids play outside while I cleaned the house. Even though I questioned their intelligence a few times, they did a great job of playing together and entertaining Christen. And I got the house nice and clean for the weekend.

Friday night, Cameron played a baseball game. His team lost against North. It was the opening game of the CYB 4th of July tourney. After the game we went to Little Mexico and then to bed.

Saturday, the weather was predicted to be rainy all day. Cameron played at 10 and it was sprinkling at that time. He played against South and won. At 1:30 we were getting ready to head back for our 2 'o clock game and got the call that all of the games were cancelled for the rest of the day. So we did nothing all afternoon. It rained all day, all night. All fireworks were postponed too.

At 5:30 we headed to the Ramey's for their annual 4th of July cookout. It was just us this year as the other people who usually come were out of town for the weekend. We had a good time and despite the ground being wet, the kids manipulated the dads into doing a few fireworks.

Cam played at 8 am on Sunday to start the official tourney. They lost their first game to the Lawrence County Stars but then played South and won. They then played the LC Stars again and won and then got beat by a team from Lafayette. So they went 2-2 for the day. Cameron was exhausted. He had a great weekend hitting wise. He took turns playing the outfield.

We came home last night and hit the couch. Christen took a nap and I dozed off a little too. It was nice to just relax. And today the google calendar says, "No events planned today". Yay!

We watched fireworks at Hoover and then came home and went to bed. Aside from missing church yesterday, it was a good day.
