Happy New Year?

Well, this isn't exactly what I had in mind for the first week of the new year. On New Year's Day (also my birthday), I heard the DJ on K-LOVE say something about the nice thing about a new year is that it is new. There isn't a mark on it. Well, she obviously didn't know what my calendar looked like.

January 3-take Cali to the doctor to see if she has scoliosis
January 4-my dad goes to the doctor to see what is in store for his future.
January 6-Brian goes for a check up. I pray all goes well there. It should. He seems healthy.
January 7-Christen gets her plantar's wart cut out.

Yikes! That's a nasty first week of the year!

And, we have already been to Cali's appointment to confirm her diagnosis. They took X-rays and now we wait for the call from the doctor to determine what is next.

But twice I have seen Philippians 1:6 today which says,And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

I know God is up to something here. I know he will work good out of this. It may be painful but I am rejoicing in this suffering...

Romans 5:3-4 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.

Romans 8:28-29 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
